The way you get resources into BlackBeauty is to 'Paste' them from the Clipboard. When in doubt, follow that simple rule. BlackBeauty currently recognizes these 3 resource formats...
-- 'PICT' (and Quicktime-compressed JPEG)
-- 'TEXT' (both plain & styled text)
-- 'snd '
These are the standard Macintosh formats. Most programs will copy their goodies to the clipboard in these formats. (It may be convenient to first transfer all your resources to the Scrapbook.)
Once you have pasted an object into BlackBeauty, click on it to drag it around the screen. A list of display options also appears (in the Menu bar) when you click on an object.
Enhanced EDIT commands...
• Insert a blank page by choosing 'Insert Page' from the Edit Menu.
• The 'Paste One' menu item shows what type(s) of resources are currently contained in the clipboard. Paste individual items onto an existing page by this method.
• The Standard Edit commands Cut, Copy, Paste, Clear are renamed... Cut All, Copy All, Paste All, & Clear All to indicate that these operations apply to ALL objects for the current page.
• The edit commands found under the object menu (Cut, Copy, Clear) allow you to manipulate a particular item on a page.
SOUNDS
Pasting sound is straight-forward, in concept. Paste sound from the clipboard, just as you would a picture or text. (Yes, the Clipboard and Scrapbook both accept 'snd ' resources.) Getting sounds into the clipboard, however, may not be so easy. If you've managed to get a sound into your Control panel (for use as a 'System Beep') you can select it, and choose 'Copy' to put it into the clipboard.
